When I first started working out in March I felt like I was stuck at 230lbs. When I started the meal plan I was 213. Yesterday, I weighed in at 196! I beat my goal!!! Progress is not perfection!

As an educator, former coach and coach’s wife, my goal has been to inspire my scholars and athletes to be the best in everything they do. Reach for goals that people say you can’t achieve and kick the walls and doors down as you show them you can. To be thankful, to be kind, to be you, to be an original and to take care of those around you. It makes my heart full when those students and athletes grow up to inspire others. Mr. EYG Jeremy Gray and those he has surrounded himself with are doing just that. In December, they inspired me to #EYG. I have changed my relationship with food and started pushing myself to step outside my comfort zone by exercising. I have lost 60 pounds since December and I’m not ready to stop. Thank you gentlemen! My next weight loss picture will be in my #EYG shirt.

EYG has helped me in so many ways. I started my weight loss journey about two years ago. My friend Ashley told me about the class and asked me to go with her one day, I had never worked out like that in my life. I was sore for almost a week and was wondering what I had gotten myself into! Lol! But I kept coming back because I liked the improvements I was seeing and mentally I started feeling bad if I didn’t workout. If you know me, I’ve never been the athletic type or even like to workout at all. EYG has changed me mentally, physically and spiritually! I thank God for this LIFE CHANGE!! Without EYG I WOIULD NOT BE WHERE I AM TODAY!!

I was diagnosed with Type 2 diabetes in 2004 and was able to stay off meds for awhile by exercising. Then life kicked in. My schedule became hectic as I found myself being a single parent. I mismanaged my time and lowered myself on my priority list. Being in my forties and helping my daughter to become more responsible, I’ve taken back some of my time and allocated it as my “me time”. I’d seen the exercise hour in Greater Peace ‘ s church bulletin, but I’d missed the sign up by the time I called. I put the next start up date on my calendar to ensure I didn’t miss it. I went to the session expecting a workout. Boy, does God knows what we truly need. Jeremy Gray, from day 1, took no excuses and challenged me. I found myself trying things I’d never thought I could do. I enjoyed the evening sessions so much, that I also started the EYG 430 TO 530 AM BOOTCAMP. With Jeremy ‘ s no excuse policy and bluntness coupled with the support of the group, I look forward to the sessions and “elevating my grind”. My goal is to improve my overall health and possibly come off the meds. I have more energy than ever before and I rest more soundly. Also, my husband says the squats are working!! Lol. Although I joke at times, I am truly thankful for this ministry. #EYG

As a former athlete, I’ve always had the mental and physical ability to maintain a healthy body image. The importance of my health deteriorated after college when working to maintain financial stability came into play. I forgot how to balance my financial happiness with my overall happiness. So once I turned 30, I decided to go back to what I know……which is “Team Driven Exercise.” Mr. EYG is my coach and my teammates are present from 4:30am to 5:30am two days out of the week. I absolutely enjoy waking up early to complete a workout that benefits my mind, body, and soul!! I’m elevated from the top of my head to the bottom of my feet! #EYG #ELEVATEYOURGRIND #TEAMEYG

EYG has helped to look at this journey to becoming fit and healthy in a different realm. The thing that has stuck with me since I started back on thejourney to become fit and healthy is the statement that Jeremy made, ” The seed has been planted, water it and watch it grow.” My seed is being watered spiritually, mentally, and physically. The journey is not easy but as we all know know if we don’t water our seeds(read and medidate in the word, change our lifestyle, and put in the work)the seed with wither. #EYG#ElevateYourGrind#TeamEYG

How has EYG helped me? EYG has helped me push to a level that I’mnot quite sure that I could have made it to on my own. Seeing Jeremy’s passion and drive to help elevate others inspires me to push past my comfort zone to be the best me I can be. He doesn’t let you quit. Every time you think you can’t push any further, you hear his voice pushing you to get to the next level. EYG is not just about my outward appearance but my mind, body, and spirit and making sure that they are all in sync! It doesn’t make since to work on one without the other. EYG along with another group, WWIDH, have linked me with a group of like minded ladies who inspire me to be better each day!

How has EYG helped me?
Well….I’ll be completely honest with you guys. Working out has not been one of my strong points since high school which was almost 10 years agoūüė≤. I was beyond nervous Ecameron Dowdelllllll told me that I was going to workout with EYG AT 4:30 A.M. and we all had no choice. I work full-time along with being a parent of a one year old. So you can imagine the struggle it took me to wake up for this.¬† EYG showed me that with determination and drive you can push through anything. You rarely have a workout instructor who is willing to work on the mind, body, and soul. When you feel good about yourself on the inside it shows on the outside. Jeremy¬† said this best Tuesday morning “We are headed to where the grass is greeneer”. (As in push through to get where you want to be)¬† Im on a journey to a lifestyle change and Im embracing it……360 degrees of ELEVATION #EYGElevate Your Grind.Jeremy Grayy

Growing up was rough for me.. I was always the biggest one in my class, the biggest in the room.. From the time I was born I never lost a pound. As I got older I got sicker and sicker… The last time I found myself in the ICU Dying from Ketoacidosis…¬† I knew it was¬† time for a change.¬† Every since that day I’ve been working toward my goal… Never giving up, I found #EYG to help reach my goals… I’ve been motivated and encouraged every since that day… The #EYG classes, workouts,¬† personal training¬† sessions.. EVERYTHING!!!¬† #EYG

How has EYG helped  me?
Well since I started my career, being in school, and participating in other community organizations, I lacked motivation when it came to working out. I founded it harder for me to fit working out in my schedule. Commuting an hour back & forth to work, having to participate in afternoon meetings with different organizations, and getting home to even plan to actually workout, became an exhausting thought. After working, dealing with the people at work, and doing homework all day, I’d rather sleep than workout. However, joining EYG has helped me to hold myself accountable for gaining the physical, mental, and emotional discipline without excuses.¬† The encouragement and motivation exuded during the session made me happy to be apart of such a great group and reminded me that one cannot be a better you or better in your goals if your making excuses as to why you’re not living up to your full potential. No longer being incompetent in the process of my elevation! #EYG #ElevateYourGrind #TeamEYG

How has EYG helped me? I have only been to one session but after that session that I was it mentally or physically prepare for I never said “oh, I am not coming back”. I am sore today but look forward to the next session tomorrow. I observed the ladies in the group working and and no one gave up which gave me the ambition of completing this journey I have set for myself… To elevate inside as well as outside. #EYG #ElevateYourGrind #TeamEYG

How has EYG helped me? I’m glad you want to know! EYG has helped me see the bigger picture of Elevating my Grind in such a short amount of time! I have always been a very determined person and I always strive to do my very best in everything that do. Well when it comes to working out I have the determination it just takes me up and down like a rollercoaster. Like a lot of us life gets the best of us sometimes and things come up quite often. My workouts become little to none because I am constantly on the go. Well I made up in my mind that I’m going to try this workout lifestyle a little different this time! I’m going to workout early in the mornings before I even get my day started. At first I was thinking I’m going to loose sleep but in reality Im really doing myself a favor. On my first day of boot camp at 4:15 I felt energized and a lot more productive during my day. As my trainer would say, “you have to get dirty to get clean!”

Growing up, my late childhood was full of set backs, and signs to regain that lost ground. Well, my adult years have held true to that as well. After a successful college career I was destined to become an NFL player. My goals were to play in the NFL, take care of my family, use that platform to bring people to the Kingdom of God; and to build a name for myself in the entertainment World as an Actor. That premeditated dream was taken from me after being turned down by an NFL team because of my worn knee ligaments. I was confused, and didn’t have a clue how to bounce back from this disappointment. I gathered myself physically as well as mentally and took a step towards my dream by playing Arena football the following year. I obtained success immediately, earning accolades for my great stats that season, which lead to a personal workout with the New York Giants. The workout went great, but I was dead ended again after not getting signed. I decided to give Arena football one more chance. During training camp I received a call from my agent, telling me I was invited to a CFL Mini Camp. I was sure this was my big break presenting itself. After training camp I was invited to be apart of football show called Necessary Roughness, in Atlanta, Ga. The sports coordinator informed me that I’d just be doing a few football plays, and that’s it. Although, once we finished the plays a few of us guys were invited to do a locker room scene with the main character. Low and behold, the directors loved me, and a few actors complimented me & recommended I look into acting full time. I thank them, smiled and said, “Not yet, after I finish with football.” Two days later I got a heart breaking call from the Canadian team telling me they weren’t signing me. I dropped to my knees in tears on my hotel floor for a few moments, until I received a call from Mark Ellis, (the sports coordinator) asking me if I was available to shoot more episodes. I dreamed every night for weeks about being on set of movies and tv shows, but suddenly that void for football had vanished. I now had peace with my former dream because God had opened a doorway to my next one. I’ve worked with some amazing directors, actors, and producers over the past three years, and my dreams are becoming more and more valid by the day. Once I opened my eyes, stopped being blinded by my plans, and accepted the challenge to Elevate My Grind……my purpose became clear. Follow your dreams, keep your eyes open for God’s signs, and #ElevateYourGrind !

In 2009 I died along with my dreams of becoming an NFL player. Opportunity was knocking at the door and I was a step late, literally. For 7 years I struggled with my identity, I was lost and asleep in the world around me. It seemed like I lost everything at once: friends, failed relationships, loved ones, confidence and hope. I felt like I let my family and my city down. I couldn’t figure out my purpose in life. Only at my lowest point did I find my source of strength. Every year for the last 7 years a voice inside of me kept encouraging me to rise. Every year that voice got a little louder and a little stronger; and each year I got a little hungrier, a little stronger, a little wiser, and a little more diligent in my craft. I even stepped out of the box and took risks. I encountered setbacks, every setback I became even more determined and that voice got stronger and louder. Until one day the voice was so strong I woke up and it seemed like all my wrongs became rights, all my darkness became light. Suddenly I felt a sense of elevation as if these last 7 years were a test of my faith in the journey God had bestowed upon me. That’s when Elevate Your Grind became my reality and I introduced it to the world. On top of that I got an opportunity to play in the CFL for Saskatchewan Roughriders for a moment. I’m a step closer to my dream. My message is simple never give up on yourself or your dreams no matter how cloudy it may look. It’s just a test. Awake and arise to take control of your destiny by Elevating Your Grind!
